An optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) for arbitrary microwave waveform generation based on Fourier domain mode-locking (FDML) is proposed. A reconfigurable optical generator (OWG) implemented via external electro-optical modulation, which serves as the source proposed OEO. The from OWG can be seen a series of frequency-scanning wavelengths in frequency domain. At any instant, number 0 to infinite.
